I’m a culture vulture journo and you’ll find my pieces in Hello! Pakistan, Newsline Magazine, The Friday Times (TFT) and many other places, including the Toronto Star and The National, Abu Dhabi. I’ve interviewed so many diverse people in my 20-year career — personalities like the late Begum Viqar un Nisa Noon and Air Marshal Asghar Khan; authors like Mohsin Hamid and Nadeem Aslam; film stars of today, Fawad and Mahira (Khan) to young Turks like Sheheryar Munawar and Ahad Raza Mir; fashion designers, filmmakers; artists like Pakistani masters Rashid Rana and Shahzia Sikander.

I love the arts and entertainment and one of my favourite jobs was as the South Asian Coordinator at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada, where I reviewed dozens of films and worked with and met international industry and talent — this experience set the benchmark for my career that followed, especially the value of knowing that one must love what you do! For the past six years, I’ve been so proud to be part of the Pakistani publishing, arts and entertainment industries and as Editor at Hello! Pakistan magazine, I found the front and back-end to be immensely vibrant and truly talented.

Traveling is my one true passion and I’ve written about many of my trips to Europe, the USA and Canada, Africa and the Far East  — I instinctively head towards the historic, cultural, foodie and the contemporary vibe of a city, but post Covid-19 you may find me meandering on country roads searching for the perfect sunset!

This blog is my bona fide attempt to share ideas, record experiences, and to feature some amazing people including a community of talented friends, in Pakistan and abroad.
